– This is a true mountain cabin — AWD/4WD is strongly recommended, especially in wet weather. – The moose in the great room? He's part of the experience. Every guest gets to name him. – We’ve hosted guests here since 2018, and while our management approach has evolved, our commitment to great experiences hasn’t changed a bit. – There’s no fenced yard, but we welcome well-behaved dogs with a pet fee. – One more thing — you're in a cabin. On a mountain. In the woods. That means bugs, deer, snakes, raccoons, bears, and maybe even something with more legs than you’d prefer. Moose Mountain sits in Double Knob—a quiet, wooded ridge between Ellijay and Blue Ridge—close to orchards, breweries, and groceries, yet peaceful and starry at night. Expect curvy mountain roads (take it slow) and a friendly, low-key vibe. Minutes to Lake Blue Ridge, Aska trails, the Benton MacKaye, and the Toccoa & Cartecay for trout, tubing, and kayaking. Wildlife is part of the charm—deer often, the occasional black bear—so use the bear bins and keep food inside. Please keep outdoor noise down after 10 pm. It’s that “feels remote without being remote” kind of spot.
